On January 19, 2016, a petition for a writ of habeas corpus was filed by Jonathan Sheldon and SFH on behalf of former University of Virginia lacrosse player George Huguely, who was convicted in 2012 of second-degree murder for the death of his ex-girlfriend, Yeardley Love.
