On September 27, 2012, in Commonwealth v. Orellana, Brad Haywood and co-counsel Joseph King won a new trial for an innocent client who was serving 28 years in prison as a result of perjured testimony from his accuser. The Alexandria Circuit Court agreed that new evidence was “devastating” to her credibility, that it comported with Orellana’s version of events, and that a motion to set aside the verdict and sentence should be granted.
